I did not make it in time to take the Buy Handmade pledge this past holiday season, but I have made my very own pledge to make 2008 a handmade year. There are a lot of gift giving occasions throughout the year: birthdays, various holidays, and just times when there’s someone I want to give a present. So far I’ve crocheted a Michelangelo for my sister. I’m currently working on two gifts: one for Valentine’s Day and one just because. I have one gift to work on that’s actually leftover from Christmas, one other “just because,” and then one birthday gift planned. I’ll chronicle my progress here, but I generally won’t be able to post things until they have been delivered, as most of the gift recipients keep an eye on this blog.
